Most of the internal structure was removed and then much steel framework installed in order to provide rooms with large open spaces. A polished concrete floor was laid and the windows changed for slim profile contemporary glazing, with a similar approach used internally of fitted glazed screens instead of walls.
Whilst the external of the listed stone barn remained largely untouched, internally there is a high quality bespoke fit-out, with careful attention given to the formation of the organic shapes and the quality of the finishes. The clients brought their design expertise into the project with items such as secret doors, back lighting and the use of large bespoke mirrors. The end result is a stunning contemporary internal space set in a very old stone building.
