Due to planning constraints, the extension also involved excavating and creating a basement in order to maximise the available space without compromising the historic house.
A vaulted ceiling also added to the feeling of space and, combined with extensive hard landscaping, provided the desired indoor/outdoor living direct from the new kitchen hub of the house.
